Welcome to our group classes for the Fall 2025 Semester! We are so pleased that you will continue you and your child’s learning journey with us. We are so excited to begin learning with your child, and to help them succeed on their academic journey!

Reading, Writing and Novels (Grades 4-5-6)
Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-6pm **Beijing Time
This group class focuses on the basics of the language, including reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. We will do grammar work at the A1 and A2 level. Students will create short presentations about the books they are reading, and they will write summaries and complete reading comprehension questions.
The books we will read in September, October and November are “The Borrowers” by Mary Norton (September),“Bridge to Terabithia” by Katherine Patterson (October), and “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” by C. S. Lewis (November).

The dates of the course are as follows:
September session: September 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30 and October 2
October session: October 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30
November session: November 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27

Each course is 4 weeks long, with 2 meetings per week. The price of each course is $30CAD per hour, per student. So the price per month is 8 classes x 1.5 hours each class x $30/hour = $360CAD.

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-7:30pm **Beijing Time
We will learn vocabulary, pronunciation and language at the B1-B2 levels. Students will be reading more difficult books. We will analyze the characters, setting and plot of each novel and learn how to write well.
We will read the following books in each month: “The Cider House Rules” by John Irving (in September); “My Name Is Asher Lev” by Chaim Potok (in October); “Flowers For Algernon” by Daniel Keyes (in December).

The dates of the course are as follows:
- September session: September 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30 and October 2
- October session: October 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30
- November session: November 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27

University Preparation and SAT Class (Grades 9-12)
Sunday mornings, 10am-12pm **Beijing Time
This course focuses on giving students the tools needed to succeed on standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT. We will focus on analyzing the types of questions on the SAT and ACT tests and understanding the logic behind the grammar and reading comprehension questions.
Finally, we will write short summaries of what we have learned and answer reading comprehension questions.
The non-fiction books we will read are as follows: “Into Thin Air” by John Krakauer (in September); “Packing for Mars” by Mary Roach (in October); “Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance” by Angela Duckworth (in November).
Each course will run for four Sundays, as follows:
- September 7, 14, 21, and 28
- October 5, 12, 19, 26
- November 2, 9, 16, 23
The price for each course will be $30CAD per hour. So this means that the price for each course is 8 hours x $30CAD/hour = $240CAD.

Intensive Writing and Grammar Class for Grades 7-8-9
Sunday afternoons, 4pm-5:30pm **Vancouver (Canada) Time
In this course, we will learn how to analyze novels and how to answer questions about them. We will learn how characters develop and how settings change; we will learn how to ask and answer questions about what happens in the books, and how to write good summaries. This course is for students who are at an intermediate level (B1-B2) level of English.
We will focus on developing our vocabulary and our reading skills. Most importantly, we will learn how to write good essays about the novels we are reading. It’s important to understand how to write a good thesis statement, how to create a good introduction, and how to write good paragraphs.
Each course will run for four Sundays, as follows:
- September 7, 14, 21, and 28
- October 5, 12, 19, 26
- November 2, 9, 16, 23
The price for each course will be $30CAD per hour. So this means that the price for each course is 8 hours x $30CAD/hour = $240CAD.
