Job Search Skills Package

Native English Ltd. is pleased to offer the following Job Search Skills Package to professionals who are out of work, and who would like to up their skills in order to find themselves a better job and a more rewarding career. 

 

Our innovative Job Search Skills Package includes a total of five hours of work with each client: 

 

One hour of English Language Assessment. The client’s level will be thoroughly evaluated across the four language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).

  • The client will participate in a short conversation in English, and describe his or her career goals; 

  • The client will then read a technical passage, and discuss what it means;

  • The client will write a passage describing themselves and their career history; 

  • Finally, the client will listen to a short excerpt and discuss its contents. 

The instructor will offer feedback about how to improve the client’s English language skills, and offer support around how to reach their goals. 

 

One hour of writing, polishing, and working on the client’s CV. We will collect all of the client’s past and recent work experience, and educational experience, in a working document, and the client will learn how to format the data in a professional manner. The client will learn how to use action verbs to describe recent job responsibilities, and show their skillset in a positive light.

 

One hour of writing a cover letter. The instructor will sit with the client and instruct the client in crafting an elegant, detailed and engaging cover letter. The instructor will help the client frame his or her work experience in a positive light, and show the client how to adapt the cover letter to 3 jobs. 

 

One hour of practising interview skills. The instructor will instruct the client in the verbal skills needed to successfully pass a job interview in English. We will review the three major types of questions that prospective employers ask, and coach the client in how best to respond to them in an accurate and error-free manner. 

 

One hour of active job searching online. The instructor will sit with the client and look at various job sites, to find 3 prospective jobs that the client will be able to apply to. We will submit the client’s CV and cover letter to 3 jobs of the client’s choosing. 

 

The cost of the package is $1,500 CAD, payable by e-transfer prior to the first meeting to info@nativeenglish.ca.

 

Sessions will be offered online through the secure JitSi meeting platform. Work done in sessions will be available to the client in a private Google Document that only the client will be able to access. 


Your instructor will be Dr. Daniel Viragh (Ph.D., Berkeley). Dr. Viragh has over 20 years of experience teaching English, in a career that has spanned three continents. Dr. Viragh has taught English in Fukui City, Japan; Berkeley, California; and Budapest, Hungary. He is the founder of Native English Ltd. and serves as an academic consultant to a number of public and private clients.
